|Description:||The Network and Security Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and integration of the corporate WAN, LAN architecture for the entire MCFC Infrastructure. This individual will also be responsible for implementation and administration of network security hardware and software, enforcing the network security policy and complying with requirements of external security audits and recommendations.|
|Duties:|| Recommends, installs and maintains network hardware/software including data and voice routers, switches, WAN and LAN routing, QOS and remote access.|
Analyzes, troubleshoots, isolates and corrects network and security problems on a 24/7x365 basis either remotely and/or on-site.
Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with other IT teams on network optimization.
Manages IT security systems, components, and processes which proactively protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of corporate business information.
Performs analysis of network security needs and contributes to design, integration, and installation of hardware and software.
Recommends, installs and maintains perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
Recommends, installs and maintains security antivirus, web filtering, Email SPAM and content control hardware and software on premise and in the cloud.
Monitors security system logs (i.e. Antivirus, IDS, firewall system logs, etc.), addressing threats and escalating issues to appropriate Teams.
Have working knowledge and provide backup support for the Telecom solutions vendor(s) pertaining to the Cisco Call Manager Voice Infrastructure and unity voicemail system.
Creates and maintains auditable documentation, standards and change requests for all supported network and security systems. Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration and appropriate use.
Partners with Service Desk team members to ensure they are able to provide operational support for key security systems.
Adheres to Change Management policies and procedures in all work.
Creates and maintains documentation for corporate IT system recovery plans pertaining to the network and security systems within current span of control.
Participates in corporate IT system recovery testing, network and security audits.
Investigates and closely works with IT Security Team to resolve and or mitigate all identified vulnerabilities.
Keeps fully informed of trends and changing technologies as they relate to Network Engineering and Information Security fields. Engages in continuous process improvement.
1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
2. Minimum of 5+ years directly related work experience in network, security administration and engineering.
3. Basic ITIL understanding
4. Cisco CCNA knowledge
5. Prior hands-on professional experience must include Cisco ASA, network routers and switches.
6. Working knowledge of Cisco Voice Technology including Cisco Call Manager and Unity platforms.
